Dance Recitals

Hi EVERYBODY!
This week Kowhai, Pohutukawa and Te Manawa showed off our inquiry learning with our class dances.  Room 6 was very impressed, the dances we have seen have been AMAZING!  We even performed our own dance to the school on Wednesday.  We were a bit nervous but the crowd cheering made us feel more confident.  Next week we cant wait to see Te Rōpū o ngā Manukura!
If you would like to see our dance "How popular dance has changed over time" come along to the school hall on Thursday at 1:30pm when we will be performing it for the parents.

Daffodil Day

Hi EVERYBODY!
This week we had a mufti day to raise money for Daffodil Day.  Daffodil Day is a day when we wore mufti then we donated a gold coin each to the NZ Cancer Society.  The money will help people who are sick with cancer.  Sylvia Park School managed to raise over $600 today - Well DONE!
We also did the Sasa as a whole school.  Check out the photos below.

Year 3 Speeches

Hi EVERYBODY!
This week we were lucky enough to be invited to watch the Year 3 speech finals.  We were so amazed by some of the speeches.   The Year 3 finalists used really presuasive reasons to convince us! We can't wait until next year when we get to have a turn at saying a speech.
That's all for this week, talk to you next week.

Term 3

Hi EVERYBODY!
Welcome to Term 3.  This term is very exciting - we have lots of things happening.
Our inquiry topic for this term is: Step up, step out.  Why dance?  We had a disco this week so we could have a go at dancing ourselves.  It was a lot of FUN!!
This week is also Maori language week.   We have been learning new words in Room 6.  Why don't you come by and ask us to share them with you?  We are going to carry on learning a new word a day until the end of the term - by then we will know 50 new words to say!!
Kowhai team was lucky enough to have Ronald McDonald come and teach us how to be safe around the road.  We talked about wearing seatbelts, sneaky driveways, pedestrian crossings and walking  on the footpath away from the road.  Georgia even helped Ronald to find his missing sock!  Check out the photos below.
