On Thursday we went to the Auckland Zoo to learn how animals protect themselves from the sun. We saw giraffes, rhinoceros, an elephant, sea lions, penguins, lions and many more. We learnt that the elephants use their trunk to throw dirt or mud onto their backs to protect them from the sun. We learnt that frogs and crocodiles stay under the water to protect themselves from the sun. We learnt that red pandas stay under the shade to protect themselves from the sun.
