Cross Country

Hi EVERYBODY!
On Thursday we had our Junior School Cross Country race.  We have been training for it by running around the field every day.  We had so much fun running around the field, over the obstacles and onto the road.  We all tried our very best and were red, sweaty and tired when we crossed the finish line.  Clyde came second in the 8 year old boys, Kulia came third in the 7 year old girls, Fine came third in the 6 year old girls and Maliq came third equal in the 6 year old boys.  Check out some of the photos of us racing below.

Our trip to the Auckland Zoo

Hi EVERYBODY!
On Thursday we went to the Auckland Zoo to learn how animals protect themselves from the sun. We saw giraffes, rhinoceros, an elephant, sea lions, penguins, lions and many more.   We learnt that the elephants use their trunk to throw dirt or mud onto their backs to protect them from the sun.  We learnt that frogs and crocodiles stay under the water to protect themselves from the sun.  We learnt that red pandas stay under the shade to protect themselves from the sun.

Term 4 Week 4

Hi EVERYBODY,
This week Kowhai and Pohutukawa started practising for cross country.  We have to run around the field.  We felt tired after the first time we ran around the field.  We run with children who are the same age as us.  We all hope we win our race.  Our real cross country race is on Thursday in week 6, come and watch us race!
On Wednesday we all saw some fireworks.  We saw lots of different colours.  We saw pink, purple, yellow, red, green and blue lights in the sky.  We drew some fireworks on black paper at school.
