Procedure Writing

Hi EVERYBODY!
In Room 6 this week we started procedure writing.  Procedure writing is when you write instructions.  We wrote instructions for how to tie your shoelaces.  First we had to learn how to tie our shoelaces.  We watched a video about how to tie your shoelaces.  Then we got with a buddy and practiced tying our shoelaces.  We had some shoelace tying competitions.  We even tried tying our laces with our eyes closed!!  Keep an eye out in Room 6 for our published writing about how to tie your shoe laces.  Check out the photos below.
That's all for this week, talk to you next week.
Bye!

How Can I Be a Sunsmart Scientist?

This week we started an experiement to see how the sun effects plants.  We got three mint plants.  We put one plant in darkness (inside Miss Noble's cupboard), one plant in the shade (under the reading table) and one plant in the sun (on top of our cubbies near the window).  We talked about what we think might happen to the plants.  Some of us think the plants will all grow the same, some of us think the plant in the sun will grow the best and some of us think the plant in the darkness will grow the best.  We will be checking on our plants every day to see who is right.  Watch this space and we will put up some photos of what happens to our plants.
That's all for this week, talk to you next week.
Bye!

Welcome to Term 4!

Hi everybody!!
What an exciting first week back we have had.  In writing we have been writing recounts about our school holidays.  In Maths we are focussing on addition and subtraction.  For inquiry we are finding out how to be sunsmart scientisit with our statement "Don't underestimate, always investigate" and our question "How can I be a sunsmart scientist?".  On Monday we started Gymnastics - it was soo much fun! And on Thursday we had a fire drill, we lined up and walked to Savage Park as quick as we could to practice incase we ever have a real fire!  We topped off our awesome week back with a assembly to celebrate Niuean language week on Friday.
Check out some of the photos of our week below.
Thats all for this week, talk to you next week.
